Sixty-five ladies competed for the Parker Bowl at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 2 July 2020. Standard scratch for the competition was 71. Colette McSorley won the competition with a superb 40 pts. Get into Golf graduate, Aimee Brennan was second with 38 pts, one shot clear of Julie McCarten whose 37pts secured third place.

With his uncles David and Bernard having featured on County Armagh Golf Club’s (imaginary) post-lockdown prize podium last month, Nathan Grimley was not to be outshone in his extended family’s collective quest for 2020 honours. Indeed, nephew Nathan went one better by securing some much-sought-after silverware courtesy of a classy performance on Saturday 4 July.

The weather was glorious on the fairways of Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 25 June 2020 when ladies competed in the Millennium Bowl and McCall Shield Stroke Competitions. The Millennium Bowl, for golfers in the 0-24 handicap range, was donated by the Lady Captain in 2000, Mrs Cecelia Woods, and the McCall shield, for those with a 25+ handicap, by Mrs Flo McCall when she was Lady Captain in 2009.

Sixty-Two ladies competed in the Eileen Steenson Memorial Competition at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 18 June with a further 20 ladies playing in the 9 hole competition. The competition standard scratch was 70. In the 18 hole competition Joy Steenson claimed first place with a fabulous 41 pts, beating Michelle Kinane, also with 41 pts, into second place. Mary Black was third with 40 pts. The remaining prize winners were:
Cat A – Colette McSorley 37 pts Cat B – Colette McAleavey 40 pts Cat C – Sylvia Ashe 36 pts Cat D – Grace Hart 38 pts
Jacqueline Kelly won the Front 9 with 21 pts and Anne O’Reilly won the Back 9 also with 21 pts.
