AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Sixty-five ladies competed for the Parker Bowl at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 2 July 2020. Standard scratch for the competition was 71. Colette McSorley won the competition with a superb 40 pts. Get into Golf graduate, Aimee Brennan was second with 38 pts, one shot clear of Julie McCarten whose 37pts secured third place.

The category winners were:

Cat A – Helen Forster 35 pts (beating Mary Black and Francis Davidson on countback) Cat B – Anne Kinsella 34 pts Cat C – Lynne Brown 32 pts (beating Jacqueline Kelly on countback) Cat D – Sylvia Ashe 34 pts

Barbara Hamilton won the front 9 with 20 pts, beating Denise Murphy, Francis Davidson, Theresa McVeigh and Grace Hart. Mary Black won the back 9 with 19 pts.

There were 13 ladies in the 9-hole competition with Theresa Campbell’s coming out on top with 19 pts, closely followed by Margaret Marjoram on 18 pts.

Alexandra Mawhinney won the weekly Time for Nine competition with 20 pts and Gail Steed was second, also with 18 pts.

There were birdies for Colette McSorley and Moya Brady at the 1st, for Bernie Rice at the 2nd, for Alexandra Mawhinney at the 6th and at the 15th and 17th for Helen Forster.

Twos were recorded at the 7th by Una Cullinane and Rita Mone and at the 11th by Mary Black.

There were handicap cuts for Theresa Campbell 49-48.4, Julie McCarten 15-14.4 and Colette McSorley 13-12.1.
