Sixty ladies played in the Ian Donaldson Stableford competition and despite the unfavourable weather on the last day of June there were some wonderful scores.

Eileen Fitzsimmons continued her excellent form to return a card with 45 points closely followed by her good friend Bernie Rice on 44 points. In third place came Hilary Johnston on 38 points.

As off the 28th June Members will no longer be able to access the Golf Club from the Newry side of town via the main Newry Road.

Access can only be gained from the Police station side of the Newry Road.

On leaving the premises Members Must turn right at the exit

On Saturday 25th June the Junior Girls' played their competitions for the Senior and Junior Johnston Cups.

These cups were presented to the Junior Girls' in 2001 by Hilary and Alan Johnston and family and they have sponsored the competition prizes since then.

June 18 th 2016 was certainly a day to treasure for the Honorary Treasurer of the Ladies Branch of County Armagh Golf Club Jacqueline Kelly who was the overall winner on Lady Captain's Day.

There was a great turn-out on the day and everyone enjoyed the lovely condition of the course and the beautiful weather as they competed for one of the fabulous paintings Lady Captain Una had commissioned from her very talented artist niece Ms Orla Cullinane.

Only a couple of days left until the guys embark on 4 rounds of golf in one day in County Armagh Golf Club. Damien Smyth, Patrick Brannigan, Declan Quinn and Marty Daly will be heading out at first sunlight to ensure that they get the four rounds played hopefully before nightfall on Thursday 23rd June 2016!

Damien Smyth – Chief Organiser of the four-ball stated – “ I would like to thank everyone who has supported us to date through sponsorship and County Armagh Golf Club for hosting our challenge. We will be playing as fast as possible on the day and would welcome any support out on the course on the day to keep us going. Macmillan do great work throughout the UK and we are trying to raise as much funds as possible for Macmillan to help towards the great work that they do on a daily basis”
