Martin Gill is presented with the JR McMahon sponsored Allen Cup by County Armagh Golf Club Captain Martin Oliver. Looking on are category prize winners in the annual stroke competition.

A two-over par front nine was followed by a one under par back nine. But it was that birdie at the last which ultimately clinched the silverware.

Indeed Robert Fagan may never again come as close to winning the Allen Cup. He too returned a nett 66 but had to concede defeat on countback.

In Category 1 it was the ‘young ones' who led the way – Shea Smyth (3) claiming the first prize with a nett 67 and winning on countback from Jarlath McReynolds (4), also on nett 67

Paul McCurry (13) was outright winner of Category 2 with a nett 68 with William Knipe runner up with a nett 69.

Gerry Cullen's (20) nett 70 won Category 3 and Kieran Beagan (20), a further shot adrift on nett 71, was runner up.

The Best Gross Score of the day was returned by Philip Kelly (1) – Gross 69.
