AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

DID he peak too soon? That’s the question they’re asking around County Armagh Golf Club after Eamon Toner claimed victory in the final week-end stroke competition before Captain’s Day.

For the affable big fella however, a prize is a prize!

But he’ll no doubt suggest his win was simply a marker for Captain Martin Oliver’s big competition on Saturday June 23rd.

Eamon (20) returned nett 66 to win the club stroke event – his better back nine just edging it ahead of Jim Bruce (18) who also carded a nett 66.

Juvenile Captain Lee Campbell (6) was the best of the category winners. His nett 67 winning Category 1, again the better back nine clinching it ahead of Brian Loney (7) who also returned a nett 67.

Past Captain Richard Black (13) won Category 2 with a nett 67 – a double bogey at the 1st and 9th holes ultimately costing him on the day. Runner up in the category was Brian Wilson (13) with a nett 69.

Tomas McElmeel (22) was a massive four shots better than all the rest in Category 3 – his nett 67 winning it ahead of Gavin McElmeel.
