AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

TWO-handicapper Andrew Millar produced his season's best score – a magnificent nett 64  - to win the recent Club stroke competition at County Armagh.

A hat-trick of birdies at the 5 th , 6 th and 7 th holes saw the Killylea painter and decorator on his way to a three under par front nine. And with a further birdie at the 12 th part of a one under par back nine, his nett 64 was indeed an outstanding winning score.

Runner up was Honorary Secretary Paddy Burns (14), two shots adrift on nett 66.

But there was obviously some excellent scoring in the secretary's fourball – Danny Maxwell also returning a nett 66 to claim first prize in Category 2. Cormac O'Hare's nett 67 took the runner's up prize in the same category.

Meanwhile, in Category 1, first prize was claimed by Niall Brady (5) with a nett 67, and Ronan O'Reilly (8) was runner up with a nett 68.

And in Category 3 it was Brendan Lynch with a nett 68 and Peter Murtagh, nett 71, who claimed the prizes, respectively.
