Lady Captain Elizabeth Mawhinney welcomed everyone to the clubhouse for prize giving and referenced the perfect weather and course conditions but very challenging pin positions which competitors had encountered. However, although she couldn't guarantee the weather she assured everyone that the pin positions would be much more manageable on Saturday for her Lady Captain's Day. The ladies competed for the Ian Donaldson Trophy which was donated by Ian during his Captain's year in 1979. He later served as President of the Club when the existing clubhouse was reopened following reconstruction in 1982.
Ellen's Fish and Chips Keady are the new sponsors for this prestigious trophy. Lady Captain Elizabeth thanked Ellen for her generous sponsorship and beautiful golf wear prizes which she had purchased from the pro shop. Ellen had been a long-term sponsor of the winter putting competition and explained she was delighted to transfer her support to the summer competition. Ellen also wished Elizabeth a lovely day for her upcoming Lady Captain's Day on Saturday.
Ann Mone took third place with 33 points just behind Alexandra Mawhinney who returned 34 points. The overall winner was Anne O'Reilly with 39 points. Accepting her prize Anne thanked her playing partner Jacqueline Kelly and Ellen for her fantastic prizes and expressed her delight at being the recipient of the cup.

Lady Captain Elizabeth Mawhinney welcomed everyone to the presentation of prizes and expressed her relief that the main competition and the visiting Lady Captain's event had been played in pleasant conditions as the stormy night and early morning rain had threatened proceedings. Seventeen visiting Lady Captain's had enjoyed a coffee morning reception, a nine-hole competition followed by a lovely lunch and prize giving.
The winner of first prize in the Club Stableford competition was Cait McKinney who returned an excellent score of 40 points , to beat runner up Breda Teahan who recorded 39 points. Third place honours went to Colette McSorley with 37 points.
Cait was delighted to accept her prize and wished Elizabeth a successful Lady Captain's Day on Saturday 23 rd.

A large number of lady members competed for the Marie Curie Classic Competition on the 7th June on a beautiful hot and sunny day. The course was in magnificent condition for the annual competition which was again sponsored by Rice's Supermarket, Keady who have been associated with the charity for many years.
Whilst the warm sunshine was most welcome the cooler surroundings of the clubhouse were the perfect setting for the very well attended presentation. Mrs Phil Rice, on behalf of the sponsors organised the fabulous display of generous hampers which she presented to the grateful prize-winners. The overall winners were the experienced pairing of Bernie Rice and Geraldine Rafferty who returned an excellent score of 45 points. Geraldine thanked Phil for the beautifully presented hampers which Rice's always provide for the competition and expressed her delight at winning a competition which contributes to such a worthy cause. The Lady Captain Elizabeth also thanked Phil for the long-term sponsorship which her family business has consistently given to the club.

The ladies branch competed in beautiful warm sunny conditions for the Fox Cup for golfers in the handicap range of 0-27, and the Culmore Shield for golfers in the 28 to 36 handicap bracket.
The Fox Cup was donated to the ladies' branch by a past captain and the first winner in 1974 was Eileen Steenson, while the Culmore Shield was presented to the club by Mr D S Hyndman in 1953.
Both competitions were generously sponsored by Daily Bake . Mrs Sheila Stinson representing the sponsor presented a beautiful array of prizes to the lucky winners and expressed her sincere hope that Daily Bake will continue to sponsor the competition in the future.
Competition was keen for both trophies and with the course in magnificent shape and the weather perfect for golf the main challenge was to control the pace of putts on very fast greens . The Fox Cup was won by Valerie Gordon with an excellent nett 67. A delighted Valerie thanked her playing partners and expressed her appreciation of the winning prize and thanked Sheila for her sponsorship. In second place Rita Mone returned a nett 70 and third place was awarded to Una Cullinane with a nett 71. Gail Steed won the front nine with a nett 33 and Alexandra Mawhinney won the back nine with a nett 35.

The weather and conditions were perfect for the ladies who competed in the annual Daisy Ferguson Greensomes on Thursday 24 May 2018. Once again the competition was very generously sponsored by Wright's Interiors, Russell Street, Armagh.
During prize-giving, the Lady Captain thanked Wright's Interiors for their continued support and encouraged the ladies to support them and indeed all sponsors.
In first place were Phil Rice and Eileen Fitzsimmons with 43 points. Siobhan Donnelly and Lynne Brown took second place with 39 points and Pauline Valley and Moya Brady secured third with 38 points.

A large number of ladies competed on Thursday in warm sunny weather and on a course in magnificent condition with fast greens and run on the ball. At stake were places in the Sinton Cup match play competition which is played annually between the top two competitors in the high and low handicap brackets. In addition to the match play places a selection of prizes, donated by McKinney's Timber, were awarded in a number of categories.
The nett places were secured by Helen Forster, in top spot with a 68, and Alexandra Mawhinney whose 70 secured her the second match play berth.
Helen and Alexandra's opponents in the match play will be Ellen Brady whose gross 84 could not be bettered on the day. Second place will be filled by Paula McCrory who returned a gross 86 .

The semi-final draw sees Ellen play Helen and Paula play Alexandra. The eventual prize-winner will receive the prestigious Sinton Cup at the annual Ladies Dinner in December. The cup was presented to the club in 1922 by Mr Maynard Sinton.
Cait McKinney, on behalf of McKinney's Timber, presented a selection of gardening related prizes and Lady Captain, Elizabeth thanked Cait and her family for their continued generous support of the Ladies branch.

Long standing and fondly remembered members, Billy and Eedie Parker, whose home bordered the 17 th hole, are honoured annually in the Parker Bowl competition, generously sponsored by their nephew, Arnold Courtney . Lady Captain Elizabeth Mawhinney warmly welcomed Arnold and thanked him for his much appreciated long standing commitment to the Ladies Branch which began in 2007. Following the presentation of prizes including the specially commissioned Parker bowl Arnold explained he was delighted to be able to promote the competition in memory of his aunt and uncle.
Fifty-three ladies competed for the 18-hole competition with a further 10 playing for 9-hole prizes in warm sunshine on the course which has recovered magnificently from the ravages of a long hard winter. The warm dry conditions were reflected in the excellent scoring.
Donna Carolan secured third spot with 36 points, with Ellen Brady taking second place with 40 points. Top spot was secured by the inform Emma Garrigan with a magnificent score of 47 points. Emma joined the club last year via the Get into Golf initiative and has gone from strength to strength during the current season.
