The County Armagh Golf Club Mid-Ulster Senior Alliance League championship winning team are pictured at a special celebration event in the clubhouse recently.

Past Captain and President Jack Moore who launched the league, joined in in the celebrations of the County Armagh team which earlier this year won the championship for the first time since the league began 17 years ago.

The Mid-Ulster Senior Alliance title is played for annually by 10 local teams of 60-plus aged golfers.

Richard Smyth captained the County Armagh team to victory on the final day of the championship at Warrenpoint, where their winning performance clinched the coveted trophy by two points from last year's winners Lurgan.

Christmas Competitions

The festive season at County Armagh Golf Club gets into full swing with 3 Christmas Stableford Competitions on consecutive week-ends – 29th-30th November, 6th-7th and 13th-14th December, with Hampers and Turkey Vouchers to be won in each.

Prizes each week:

• 1^st - £50 Hamper
• 2^nd - £35 Hamper
• 3^rd - £30 Turkey Voucher

Other prizes will be added depending on the number of entries. A minimum of 50 players each week-end.

Rules

1. Entry Fee: £3.00

2. Green Markers – winter rules apply course of the day

3. If the course is closed for one day, the competition will stand if the minimum numbers (50 entries) have been reached.

4. Handicap Cuts:

• 1^st – 4 shot cut
• 2^nd – 3 shot cut
• 3^rd – 2 shot cut

Any other added prizes, 1 shot cut. All cuts apply only to these 3 competitions
