TERRY Chin's 42 stableford points won the latest Tuesday Qualifier at County Armagh.
Fresh from a week-end long celebration with old comrades on the mainland, Terry was two points better than all the rest, and could even afford a ‘no-score' at the 7 th hole.
Michael McGurk wasn't so lucky, his ‘no-score' at the 6 th hole cost him, but his 40 points still earned him runners up.
Paul McCreesh had the same 40 points score but was beaten on countback – again a ‘no score', this time at the 16 th , proving costly.
Paul Doyle ‘dinged' the 18 th hole but, with 37 points, was still the best in the Over 50s category.

Johnny Palmer picked up yet another prize, this time winning Category 2 with 39 points which could so easily have been a winning score but for a ‘ding' at the 18 th .
Neil Monaghan was runner up.
And in Category 3 it was Hugh McEneaney who led home the charge with 40 points, Eric Villiers his runner up with 38 points.

THE Club Championship may have been the big event at County Armagh last week-end, but Dudley Marjoram managed to shine the spotlight on those who unfortunately never made the cut.
In the club stroke competition run alongside the championship, Dudley produced a superb nett 64 to take the honours. On the day only Anthony Conlon bettered his score with a nett 62 to become the new Club Champion.
19-handicapper Dudley's nett 64 was one shot better than Gavin Leer who suffered a double-bogey and triple bogey at the 5 th and 6 th holes yet still returned a nett 65.
Joe Rhodie returned the same nett 65 score but was beaten on count back and Jonathan Beale whose round for a nett 66 included an eagle at the par five 8 th hole and birdies at the 10 th , 13 th , and 18 th holes.
Michael McGuirk continued his run of winning form to take fifth prize with a nett 66 – a score John McKinney also returned but was beaten on countback.

AFFABLE Anthony Conlon clinched the County Armagh Golf Club Championship title, winning by an impressive margin of three clear shots.
A superb nett 62 in the final round of the two-day competition was the outstanding score. And coupled with a nett 69 achieved the previous weekend, the 12-handicapper was deservingly declared the Club Champion 2014.
A fourth place finish in July's Motor Electric Open stroke competition qualified the easy-going Anthony among the top 50 for the Club Championship. And his nett 64 in that competition was indeed clear evidence he could be a leading contender come the 2-day championship.

Neil sizzles in Indian summer
NEIL Cromwell is making the most of the Indian Summer at County Armagh.
The 2-handicapper was in sizzling form to win the latest stroke competition with a superb nett 63 score.
With eight birdies, eight pars, a bogey and a double bogey signed for, he was always going to be the one to catch.
Nat McGeown (10) gave it his best shot returning a nett 63 also, but Neil's four under par back nine easily edged the result on countback.
Joe Rhodie's nett 64 deservedly earned him third prize, just beating Johnny Brown on countback after he too signed for a nett 64
Kieran Donnelly picked up fifth with an impressive nett 65 of his 7 handicap - his better back nine beating Art McCrory, also on nett 65, into sixth.
STABLEFORD
Cromwell's winning form was continued into the next day when he again produced the best gross score, his 36 points winning the Sunday stableford event.
However, it was Miceal McParland who was to be top points scorer on this occasion, returning 42.
Tom Calvert was just a point behind on 41 points but deservedly walked away with the runner's up prize.
Kieran Murray also followed up on his previous day's impressive scoring in the club championship to claim the Category 1 prize with 39 points. Paul Doyle returned the same 39 points but conceded to Kieran on countback.
Mark Gillen's steady scoring for a 40points total, saw him take the Category 2 first prize with John McAleavey runner up.
And in Category 3 it was Patrick Hughes who claimed top prize with 38 points – two better than runner up Glenn Baird.

ROY TURNER retained his crown as the County Armagh Golf Club Senior's Champion.
The genial Roy topped the leaderboard on the final day of the play-offs to win by four points and reclaim the Pat Russell Memorial Trophy which he won last year.
One of 30 golfers to qualify for the two-day play-offs in the annual summer Seniors League Competition, Roy led the way after the first day, returning 42 points. His second day performance may have been less impressive, but his 36 points for a total 78 was still the best accumulated score by four points.
Terry Chin was four points adrift Roy after his first play-off, returning 38 points, but he just wasn't able to close the gap on Day 2, and with 36 points and a total 74, had to settle for runner's up.
It was a similar story for third place Dudley Marjoram, 36 points recorded on Day 1 and 37 on Day 2 for a total 73.
The top ten prize winners in the County Armagh Golf Club Seniors League are as follows:
• Roy Turner (42, 36) 78; 2. Terry Chin (38, 36) 74; 3T. Dudley Marjoram (36, 37) 73; Kenny Gordon (36, 37) 73; Danny McGee (38, 35) 73; GV O'Reilly (37, 36) 73; 7T. Ally Wilson (41, 31) 72; Johnny Palmer (39, 33) 72; 9. Brian McGuigan (40, 31) 71; 10T. Dessie McLaughlin (37, 32) 69; Gerry McCreesh (35, 34) 69

BALLADEER Nicky Currie spiced up the mid-week qualifier at County Armagh winning with a tantalising 44 points.
20 points and 24 respectively front and back nines saw the Victoria Bar owner celebrate victory in the weekly stableford competition by two points.
An impressive showing by 9-handicapper Brian McGuigan for 42 points was surprisingly just about enough to take the runners up prize. A one-over par back nine for 22 points on top 20 points from the front was however, justly rewarded.
Anthony Farrell's back-to-back birdies at the 7 th and 8 th holes helped him to 21 points across the front nine holes, and with a further 20 added after 18 holes he picked up third prize.
Danny Maxwell will have been quietly satisfied with his win in the Seniors competition after returning 40 points – two birdie 2s and a no score included in his round.
And Shea Brady, of his 7-handicap, produced an impressive three over par gross score for 39 points to claim the Gross prize – on countback!
