A Classic Golf competition on Friday 22 nd May will be the highlight of a special celebration to mark 40 years since County Armagh Golf Club expanded from a nine hole to an 18-hole course.
The competition will be part of a day-long series of events reflecting on the club history and the memories of current and past members.
As well as the golf competition, plans include an exhibition of how the club has changed and developed over the years, with pictures and mementoes illustrating the history of the club and how it has been at the heart of the local community. The day will conclude with music and entertainment in the clubhouse providing an opportunity for friends of County Armagh to join members, current and past, in the special celebration.

Spearheading the organising committee, Vice-Captain Martin Oliver said: “This is a very special milestone for County Armagh Golf Club. We are one of the oldest club's in Ireland and it is important that we continue to promote its history.
“The Classic Golf competition will be the highlight of a special day of events to mark the 40 th anniversary of the course expansion from nine to 18-holes, and we would like as many people as possible – not just golfers - to join in this special celebration.
“We are inviting four-balls, men, women, and mixed to participate and compete for a host of special prizes. Local businesses are also being invited to be part of the anniversary celebration in a number of ways. These include sponsoring a four-ball, sponsoring a tee or green (£100), sponsoring nearest the pin at a par 3 (£150), or the longest drive (£150). It really is shaping up to be a very special day,” adds Martin.
