Jurgen Klopps's ecstasy on Saturday 2 June was in sharp contrast to the agony experienced by his opposite number, Mauricio Pochettino. That same day, however, the two men found common ground amid despair at their mutual inability to lift County Armagh Golf Club's prestigious Lonsdale Cup.
That enormous privilege was bestowed upon Jarlath Hagan, who expertly fended off 206 fellow competitors in the stroke tournament sponsored by Armagh City Hotel.
Jarlath Hagan was presented with the Lonsdale Cup by County Armagh Golf Club Captain, Kenny Edgar, and Brian McCormack from Armagh City Hotel, proud sponsors of the annual stroke competition. Pictured on the 18th green, they are joined by other Lonsdale prizewinners (L-R): Joe Rooney, Stewart Stevenson (collecting on behalf of Keith Hamilton), John Maguire, Richard Black and John Lavery.

As a then recently-joined member, Sam Jenkins's triumph on Richard Stewart's Captain's Day in 2017 came right out of left field.
In the two years since, however, Jenkins has repeatedly identified himself as a highly effective operator on the fairways of County Armagh Golf Club.
The latest demonstration of this prowess arrived on 26 May, when the Hamiltonsbawn player returned a nett 65 to prevail in a stroke event.

Last Sunday 2 June represented another busy afternoon for CAGC on the inter-club matchplay scene and yielded the usual (and understandable) set of mixed results.
At home, the Rossmore Cup group were knocked out by Lurgan having, as it turned out, left themselves simply too big a mountain to climb from the first leg, which was played a fortnight previously.
After seeing off Belvoir Park, CAGC will face Magherafelt outfit Moyola Park in the second round of the Pierce Purcell Shield.

Digby's Restaurant generously supported a County Armagh Golf Club competition on 18 May, when strokeplay success was very much on the menu for the worthy winner Mark Hughes.
The Keady player plated a gross 79, which led to a mouth-watering nett 65 that will surely have satisfied his golfing hunger.
County Armagh Golf Club Captain, Kenny Edgar, presents Mark Hughes with the winner's prize in the Digby's Restaurant-sponsored Club Stroke tournament. Also pictured are other prizewinners (L-R): Kenny Gordon, Joe Rooney, Derek McKeever, Lee Stewart and Gerry Doyle.
And if tournament victory was the delicious main course, Mark's moreish haul of 10 pars represented the amuse-bouche and his 14-to-13 handicap clip the flavoursome dessert.

County Armagh Golf Club was a hive of activity on 11 May as 197 golfers swarmed to the course to contest the Bumblebee Cup, which was once again kindly supported by the nearby Victoria Bar.
And the bee's knees in this stroke tournament was Rory Smyth, who had every reason to wax lyrical about a wonderful nett 65 that clinched him the Saturday silverware.
Smyth's mood may have been a tad waspish after an opening double bogey, but the then 16-handicapper was buzzing by the time a birdie at the 9th completed a front-nine recovery that saw him reach the turn in just 40 hits.
