The Ladies Summer Open this week was very generously sponsored again by Johnston's Bakery, and Hilary presented the wonderful prizes on their behalf.

This year the highly sought after Ellie Mayne Cup was won by Gail Steed who narrowly beat Vera Ellingham and Teresa McVeigh into second and third place respectively, all three returned 39 points. The course was playing well and there was a good turn out from the ladies due to the brilliant weather.

Around 60 ladies played for the July Medal which was very generously sponsored by Benetton. It was another very hot day and the course was playing well. The scores were good but it was one of the up and coming juvenile girls, Ciarrai Devlin who took first place with a net 67, closely followed by Una Cullinane with a net 68.

This week's Competition was very kindly sponsored by Fab Beauty Salon in Armagh. Sylvia Ashe streaked into the lead with an amazing 46 points well ahead of her nearest rival. As it was a Bank Holiday weekend there was a fun element to it with a prize going to the person with the least putts! This was Ann Murphy with 27 putts. Lady Captain Irene Lutton held her Captain's Day on Saturday last. There was a great turn out from early on for the Coffee Morning and this set the pace for the day. Many of Irene's family and friends were there to join in the celebrations.
Over 100 ladies played for the beautiful prizes which were on display and as the weather was perfect (for a change) there was a great buzz about the clubhouse.
