County Armagh Golf Club have bowed out of the All-Ireland Four-Ball Trophy after succumbing to defeat by Nuremore in the Ulster Final of the competition on Sunday 26 August.
The provincial decider took place at the neutral venue of Dungannon where, despite an encouraging start which saw County Armagh ahead in the first three matches through 10 holes, the Monaghan outfit ultimately showed greater patience and experience to turn their tie in their favour and secure a deserved victory.
County Armagh Golf Club's All-Ireland Four-Ball Trophy team registered five inter-club wins before losing out to Nuremore in the Ulster Final at Dungannon.

County Armagh Golf Club's penultimate Medal of the 2018 campaign was contested on 18 August, when the leaderboard was headed by Andrew Conn. In this stroke event sponsored by Gerard Byrne Tyres Ltd, the eventual victor was very much on the right track throughout a blistering nett 64.
Andrew reached the Quarry at an acceptable three over par, before really hitting his straps in a middle section where he reeled off eight consecutive pars either side of the turn. That presented a tournament-winning opportunity with four holes remaining, and the nattily-trousered 11-handicapper grabbed it with both hands. Conn proceeded to close out his Saturday game with a brilliant birdie at the 17th amid three calming bogeys, which ultimately enabled him to register a tremendous gross 75 and deservedly capture the monthly silverware.
County Armagh Golf Club Captain, Colm Shannon, and sponsor, Gerard Byrne from Gerard Byrne Tyres Ltd, are pictured with prizewinners in the August Medal (L-R): Shane O'Halloran, John Maguire, Kieran Donnelly and Rodney Villiers.
Runner-up to champion Conn was John Maguire, who fired an exceptional gross 67 that was unfortunate to be denied the top honours on a break of tie. Maguire's round was bookended by bogeys at the 1st and 18th, but he negotiated the intervening 16 holes in a scintillating five birdies and 11 pars.

County Armagh have qualified for the Ulster final of the All-Ireland Four-Ball Trophy, with the one-off clash against Nuremore to take place at the neutral venue of Dungannon this Sunday 26 August at 2pm.
That appetising fixture was made possible by a tremendous semi-final triumph over Greenisland, the team's fifth opponents in an exhilarating run in this year's tournament.
Tim Teahan's men travelled to Greenisland for the first leg on Sunday 12 August when, on paper, they looked to be weakened by the absence of two of their talismanic pairings due to pre-booked family holidays. However, this squad has repeatedly shown its strength in depth and they turned in another resilient performance here, emerging from the tricky nine-hole course, where the home side was well backed by the many members who watched on, with 2½ of the 5 points on offer.
Having dispensed with Greenisland, County Armagh's All-Ireland Four-Ball Trophy side will now play Nuremore in the Ulster Final of the competition.

Along with Captain's Day, President's Day and the Lonsdale Cup, the Gerry Lenagh Open is regarded by many traditionalists as one of County Armagh Golf Club's ‘Majors'. And on 11 August, 183 hopefuls hit the fairways in a quest for glory in the annual tournament sponsored by Morgan McLernon Transport Distribution.
No one, however, could match Garrett O'Reilly, who returned a sparkling score of 45 points to get his hands on the historic and much-coveted Gerry Lenagh Memorial Cup. Garrett's red-letter day had begun in earnest with a birdie at the 2nd, before three pars and another birdie at the 6th meant he reached the turn at just two over par.
On the way home, the minor stutter of three-putt bogeys at both the 11th and 13th was undauntedly consigned to virtual irrelevancy by back-to-back pars at the 14th and 15th, and then a perfectly-timed birdie at the penultimate hole that ultimately sealed a maiden ‘Major' title for Dundalk's favourite blow-in. O'Reilly's career-best gross 76 contained no double bogeys and effected a 15-to-13 handicap cut that will be nearly as satisfying as his capture of the beautiful and storied silverware.
County Armagh Golf Club Captain, Colm Shannon, presents the Gerry Lenagh Memorial Cup to Garrett O'Reilly, winner of the Open Stableford competition sponsored by Morgan McLernon Transport Distribution. Also pictured are other prizewinners (L-R): Adam Cromwell, Gareth Reilly, Shea Smyth, Tim Teahan and Joe Rooney.
