AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Forty-seven ladies competed in the Sinton Cup qualifier stroke competition on 23 May at Co Armagh Golf Club.  The competition was very generously sponsored by Brookwood Clinic, represented by fellow-golfer Gemma Rice.

Lady Captain Ellen Brady thanked Francessca and Mark, Brookwood Clinic for their generous sponsorship of the competition and invited Gemma Rice to present the prizes on their behalf.

The competition was won by Anne Attwell with a nett 66, three clear of Emma Garrigan and Gail Steed who were second and third respectively both with nett 69, Emma beating Gail on the countback.  Lady Captain Ellen Brady won the gross with gross 79.

The front 9 was won by Eilish Grimes with nett 31 and the back 9 by Maggie Donnelly with nett 35.

Sinton Cup Match-play

The two best gross and nett scores qualified for the match-play competition for the Sinton Cup:

9 Hole Competition

Twenty-two ladies played in the 9 hole competition which was won by Maura McCoy with 23 pts.  Toni McManus was second with 20 pts.

9 Hole Beginners Competition

Six ladies played in the 9 hole beginners competition which was won by Aisling Knipe with 22 pts, beating Catherine Vernon on the countback.

Birdies and Twos

There were birdies for Bernie Rice at the 1st; Gail Steed at the 2nd; Emma Garrigan at the 10th; Julie McCarten at 12th; Lady Captain Ellen Brady at the 17th and for Maggie Donnelly at the 6th and the 12th.

Twos were recorded by Lynne Brown at the 7th and by Maggie McKee and Lady Captain Ellen Brady at the 11th.

At the end of prizegiving, Gemma briefly outlined the services available at Brookwood Clinic for the benefit of those unfamiliar with the business.  In addition to providing physio there were a number of pilates classes including classes tailored for beginners, every mum, >65s and pelvic health.
