AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Thirty-eight ladies played in the August Medal at County Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 31 August.

The playing conditions were incredibly challenging as is evident from most of the results, however, for the winner Anne Kinsella, with nett 68, there didn’t seem to be much difficulty.

Lady Vice Captain Ellen Brady was second with nett 71 and Mary Black won the gross with gross 84.  Maggie McKee was third with nett 76.

The category winners were:

Cat A    Colette McSorley           nett 79 (beating June Humphries and Paula McCrory on better back 9)

Cat B    Lynne Brown                nett 77 (beating Valerie Gordon on better back 9)                       

Cat C    Jacqueline Kelly            nett 78

Cat D   Anne Attwell                 nett 82

Siobhan Donnelly won the back 9 with nett 38 and Bernie Rice the front 9 with nett 36.

Lorraine Megaw won the 9 hole competition with 15 pts.

Maggie McKee had a birdie at the 5th and there were twos for June Humphries at the 3rd, Maggie Donnelly at the 7th and Paula McCrory at the 11th.
