Co Armagh Golf Club’s Lady Captain’s Day took place on Saturday 30 July when ladies competed for an array of beautiful prizes chosen by Lady Captain Karen.
It was a very warm humid day with some short squally showers, which were welcomed by some, to keep them cooled down.
Thanks to the Greens’ Convenor and Greens staff the course was in excellent condition and the course set up, with many difficult and unusual pin positions, proved incredibly challenging for many. The stroke format and requirement to hole out on every hole for the 18 hole competition provided a further level of difficulty for the competitors however Helen McLaughlin, the winner of the Lady Captain’s prize, found the course to be just perfect!

Lady Captain Karen generously provided a goodie bag of essentials for all the ladies, to sustain them during their round.
Before prize-giving, family, friends, invited guests and ladies all enjoyed a sumptuous two course meal which was provided by Parklands Restaurant in a resplendent clubhouse adorned with the most beautiful floral arrangements created by the very talented lady members Gemma and Bernie Rice.
In her address Lady Captain Karen acknowledged those who had contributed to the huge success of the day, including those who helped to prepare the course, the clubhouse and the flower arrangements, Johnston’s Bakery for the cupcakes and the caterers and bar manager and staff for the food and refreshments.
A final and special word of thanks was extended to her husband Bill.
