Juveniles Captains Day Report

There was an intense battle for the Captain’s Day prizes amongst the juvenile boys at Co Armagh.

Conor Lavery produced a remarkable score of 44 points to win Lady Captain Hilary Johnston’s prize.

The ever consistent Sean Reilly finished in second place on 39 points edging out Thomas McKeown on countback.

There was no let up when the opportunity arrived for the juveniles to play for Club Captain, John Flack’s prize. Joe Rooney, playing off 21, produced a wonderful round of golf to sign for a nett 62 which edged out the improving Michael Brunsdon (14) who signed for a nett 63.

The early season competitions have produced some low scoring for the juveniles at Co Armagh GC

The recent Mayne Cup turned into a battle between the Calvert brothers Jamie and Kris. Jamie fired an excellent nett 65 but was denied by his brother Kris who signed for a fantastic nett 63.

The Antenna Cup was claimed by Sean Reilly who defied some horrendous weather to finish with 39 points and hold off the fast finishing Stuart Hall by a single point.

Conleith Lavery won the stableford competition on May 4, carding a very credible 39 points. The 19-handicapper pipped Sean Reilly by a point who himself edged out Michael Brundson on count back.

Competitions for the juveniles continue every Saturday.
