With the annual event again generously sponsored by MG Accountants, Mary and Ciaran Black got all their on-course calculations correct to prevail in the recent Open Family Greensomes tournament at County Armagh Golf Club.
The prolific pair carded a magnificent nett 62.5 to seal their glory on Sunday 4 August. And indeed, such a low score was entirely necessary as the runners-up, namely the terrific twosome of Tomas and Gavin McElmeel, finished just one shot back.
Third position on the familial leaderboard was filled by the classy couple of Anne and Desmond Kinsella with a nett 64, while an 82-stroke offering from Paddy and Dermot Hicks earned the gross prize for that deadly duo.
