County Armagh Golf Club Past Captain Pat McAleavey is pictured with Martin Murphy (2 nd from left) winner of the Dalzell's of Markethill sponsored Club stableford competition, and runners up Johnny Brown and Leo McCann.

His 43 points total was the best by one in the Saturday event with scores of 21 and 22 points front and back nine respectively pencilled on his winning card, and a birdie 2 at the 3 rd hole thrown in for good measure!

Ian Beaddie (12) put up a brave fight to catch him with 18 points from the front nine holes and a superb 24 points from the back nine to chalk up 42 points – but it sadly fell short of Martin's by one.

In Category 1, Johnny Brown (8) produced an impressive 42 points to take first prize – his 22 points from the back nine holes winning it in front of John Vernon (12) who also returned 42 points, completing his round with a birdie at the last.

Damien Grimley (16) carded the winning score in Category 2 with 40 points and included a birdie at the 2nd hole. And his 21 points from the back nine holes was enough to clinch it ahead of Lorcan Oliver (17) who returned the same 40 points.

In Category 3 meanwhile it was Leo McCann who claimed first prize with Eric Hamilton runner up with 37 points.

The Best Gross prize was won by Conor McGurgan with 37 points.
