In glorious conditions at Silverwood, the Armagh team romped home with an excellent 111 points to win the cup.

“It is a good job we secured some silverware for the mens' section of the Club this season,” declared Club Captain Richard afterwards.  “At the moment it's the ladies branch who are showing us the way in team competitions, reaching no less than five quarter-finals.

“I know Johnny was particularly pleased to win this Cup as he's has been knocking on the winners door recently. And Roy is regularly in the prizes, whereas the responsibilities of captaincy hasn't really allowed me to play any real good golf,” he added.
