ERIC Hamilton's margin of victory in the recent Sunday stroke competition at County Armagh could have been much, much more had he not closed his round with a triple bogey.
His nett 65 however, was still the winning score – on countback - with the young Mark Shannon who also returned a nett 65 and ironically also carded a double bogey at the 18 th hole.
County Armagh Golf Club Captain Richard Black presents Eric Hamilton with his prize after winning the recent Sunday Club Stroke competition.
Eric's round included a birdie 2 at the 11 th hole. Mark's card highlight was an eagle 2 at the par 4 6 th hole on his way to a one under par front nine. And he might just have stolen the prize but for the two-shots dropped at the last.
Philip Kelly (3) maintained his good form to return a nett 67 and take the Cateogry 1 first prize. Martin Gill (6) was runner up with a nett 67 also, losing out to Philip on countback.
In Category 2 Barry Scully (13) was an outright winner with a nett 66 while Gareth Frizell continued his very own winning form with a nett 67 taking the runner's up prize.
And in Category 3 Kevin Boyd's (21) nett 69 and better back nine earned him first prize ahead of Glen Baird (20) also on nett 69.
