The winners go forward to the regional final at Fortwilliam Golf Club on Thursday 27th August.
82 intrepid lady golfers played in the American Greensomes competition on Thursday 23rd April (The Desert Spring Golf 4 Women) and great scores were recorded.
In fourth place came Pauline Gingles and Greta Forster with 41 points. Una Cullinane and Anne Black were third with 41 points winning on countback. In second place came Valerie Gordon and Ellen Brady again with 41 points but in first position Pauline Vallely and Rea Haughey romped home with an amazing 46 points.
After congratulating the prizewinners on Thursday evening , the Lady Captain, Flo McCall updated the ladies on team news.
Erin Connolly participated in the successful Ulster team in the All Ireland under 18 Inter Provincial Championship.
Margaret Marjoram’s Challenge Cup Team lost by one hole to Malone.
Frances Davidson’s Foursomes Team won all three matches at home.
The Intermediate Team won three matches in Larne and will play Larne at home on Sunday 26th April.
Barbara Jenkins’ Minor League Team will play Downpatrick on Tuesday 28th April.
Flo congratulated all the captains and their teams and wished them success in their upcoming matches.
Ladies are reminded that next Thursday is the Parker Bowl Competition which is very generously sponsored by Mr. Arnold Courtney.

Congratulations to Erin Connolly and the ILGU Ulster under 18 InterProvincial team who beat the other provinces at Woodenbridge Golf Club 15th-17th April to retain the title for the 5th successive year. (See www.ilgu.ie for full report)
The charities selected for this year are :- - Breast Cancer, Alzheimers Society and Help the Aged.
Don't forget to enter your name on the time sheet for the May Open on the Bank Holiday Monday - 4th May. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!
The Link Cup is now into the third round and has to be played by the 16th May. Both players are reponsible for making contact to arrange their match. Please give plenty of notice.
Team matches have commenced and early results are promising. Keep up the good work and ladies please give the team players and captains all the support you can.
On Friday 15th May the club is hosting a fundraiser on behalf of Armagh Royal School 1st XV Rugby trip to Austrailia in June.There will be a timesheet in operation throughout the day and it is available on the notice boards in the mens corridor. Ladies are invited to participate and the entry fee is £5 for County Armagh members.

American Greensomes:- ( half combined handicap - Max 30 a player will play of 30 if their handicap is above this)
At the par 4's & 5's both players drive from the tee and then play their partners ball after which they select the better ball and play alternate shots.
At the par 3's both players drive the pick the better ball and play alternate shots! Good Luck!

Congratulations to Erin Connolly who has been selected for the ILGU Ulster Under 18 girls Interprovincials which will be held at Woodenbridge Golf Club on the 15-17 April.
ILGU website quote - "The altered format of this year's event, sees each province being represented by 8 players, with 3 foursomes and 6 singles matches played each day in the round robin series. Ulster once again look the strongest of the four sides as they field a team which boasts the talents of Lisa and Leona Maguire (Slieve Russell) as well as fellow Irish Girls' International Sarah Lousie Winter (Carnalea), while newcomers to the Ulster squad include rising young stars Paula Grant (Lisburn) and Erin Connolly (Armagh)".

Congratulations to Erin Connolly who has been selected for the ILGU Ulster Girls under 18 Team to play in the Inter- Provincial matches at Woodenbridge G C in April.
Well done to Hilary Johnston and Geraldine Rafferty who won their 1st round match in Tandragee in the Daily Mail 4 Ball Better Ball competition on the 16th March. Their next round will be on home soil.
The Hirsch cup draw has been made. The sheet is up in the ladies locker room and the 1st round matches must be played by the 25th April. Both players are responsible for arranging their match so please get in touch in good time.
Team Captains are busy scouting round for players as the matches are getting underway. Please give them plenty of support and we wish all our teams good luck. Play well and enjoy!
A sum of £700 has been returned to the Ladies Branch by the ILGU. The Committee are inviting the ladies to forward suggestions as to how the money could be used. If you have any ideas please contact the Lady Captain or a lady committee member.
There will be a SPRING FLOWERS demonstration by Kay Casey on Thursday 2nd April at 7.30pm in the clubhouse. The entrance fee is £5 and proceeds will be in aid of "Habitat for Humanity". Tickets are available behind the bar and light refreshments will be served.
