Hello all I hope you are keeping well! It’s been extremely busy over the last number of weeks, and we have seen a lot of you competing and representing the club on a team’s front.
Over 100 men and similar numbers on the ladies’ front who have also been in the same position.
I must congratulate all team captains for their hard work and commitment dealing with rule changes, picking panels, checking handicaps, and finalising teams.
It’s been a tough battle, and we have seen quite a few results just going the other way. I’ve been watching closely on the course and can say that these matches just come down to a few putts here and there, holed or missed which swings the outcome. It’s been a pleasure supporting you all and I’ve witnessed some impressive shot making requiring steely nerve and determination.
For the remaining teams I can only hope for a deep run of changed fortunes and good luck to you all.
We have also seen the opening of the short game area which looks impressive and is getting the usage as hoped and more importantly for the improvement in our skills around the green.
PS take a pitch repair marker with you and let’s look after and protect an added asset that will give us so much fun and enjoyment for a long time to come.
On Saturday 8th June we held an afternoon tea for past Captains and Presidents which proved to be a successful, well-attended event that keeps us at the forefront of our commitment to push towards that One Club goal. Past Captains and Past Lady Captains ranging over 6 plus decades attended, so on behalf of Ellen, Elizabeth and myself we thank you all dearly for coming.
We are now into the 2nd week in June and Captain’s Day will soon be upon us, I have chosen my charity as: “Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for children.”
Thank you in advance for all donations. This charity is very important to support all the young who are faced with this hardship and battle.
I will be placing a donation bucket in the bar area and in the pro shop to try and promote and raise as much for this great cause and I would prefer donations to my chosen charity rather than any personal gifts, thank you and good luck to all on Captain’s Day.
Your Captain
Neil Cromwell
