59 ladies competed on Thursday last for the competition which was very generously sponsored by Professional Travel on Thomas St Armagh. This was the first 18 hole competition of the year due to the inclement weather. The competition was keenly contested by the large turnout of eager golfers in the lovely sunshine.
Best score of the day came from Eilish Grimes with a net 67 closely followed by Geraldine Rafferty with a 68. Three shots adrift of the winner was Gina Morris with a 70. The Gross prize went to Paula McCrory while the Par lady was Bernie Gribben. The category prizes were as follows. A :C McCall (73) B: G Steed (72)
C: R Haughey (72) D: B Teehan (73). The front nine was picked up by R Calvert while the back 9 belonged to L Browne.
The Lady Captain presented the prizes which was very well attended by the ladies.

The Lady Captain also presented the prizes for the Spring League which was played over a short period of 3 weeks due to bad weather.
The overall winner was B McEnaney with joint 2nd place going to V Ellingham and L Browne.3rd place was also shared by P Gingles and N Spence.

Despite playing on temporary greens, County Armagh lady golfers produced fabulous results in their 14 hole stableford competition on Thursday 14th March.
Fifty four ladies braved the chilly winds and the occasional blustery showers. With 39 points, winner L. Brown's score was worthy of an 18 hole competition. In second place was V. Ellingham with 36 points and P. Gingles came third with 34 points. Category winners were as follows: Cat. A: B. Rice, Cat. B: G. Steed, Cat. C: N. Spence and Cat. D: J. Kelly.

Thirty nine ladies played in the 9 hole stableford competition on Thursday last in very mixed weather conditions, with the early birds getting the better part of the day. The winners however all played during a steady drizzle of rain in the afternoon but it did not dampen their enthusiasm. The winner Carina Oliver had a fantastic score of 23 points closely followed by Barbara Hamilton 22 points and 3rd place went to a count back. Brigid McEnaney just edged out Barbara Gartland to take the final prize.
The lady captain Hillary Johnston welcomed all the ladies to the first prize giving of the year and she congratulated all the winners.

Forthcoming Events The 9 hole Spring league competition commences on Thurs 17th Jan. Play as often as you like with the best score of the week going towards your final score.
The Coffee evening has been changed to Thurs 24th Jan commencing at 7.30 in the clubhouse. This will be an evening of craic with some food and a glass of wine included. As this is the first event of the golfing year it would be lovely to see the clubhouse packed.
The annual putting competition is scheduled for Fri 8th and Fri 15th Feb with the final taking place on Fri 1st March. Now is the time to get your team together and start practicing for this very prestigious event.

Outgoing Lady Captain Paula McCrory handed over the captain's reins to Hilary Johnston for the incoming year in packed clubhouse.
Paula wished the new Lady Captain well for her year and presented her with the captain's pin. Hilary thanked everyone for their good wishes and said she hoped the ladies would enjoy the year ahead and have a successful golfing year.

A large turnout of ladies attended the annual dinner and presentation of end of season prizes which included all the major cups and winter league winners. The Winter League was won by Teresa Corrigan with her daughter Catherine lifting the runners up prize. Third place went to Barbara Hamilton, fourth Kathleen Mallon, while Karen Edgar and Vera Ellingham tied for 5th place.
The category winners were as follows: Category A: 1st Hilary Johnston, 2nd Pauline Jingles and 3rd Valerie Gordon Category B: 1st Rea Haughey, 2nd Sheila Hughes and 3rd Lorraine Megaw Category C: 1st Bridgid McEneaney, 2nd Carmel Cassidy and 3rd Anne Murphy Category D: 1st Kay Molloy, 2nd Eilish Grimes and 3rd Jacqueline Kelly
The overall Weekly winners were: Week 1. Catherine Corrigan, 2. Una Cullinane 3. Vera Ellingham 4. Flo McCall 5. Anne Murphy 6. Carmel Cassidy and Teresa Corrigan (joint).
The Annual Cup Winners were as follows: Golfer of the Year was Mary Black, closely followed by lady captain, Paula McCrory Hirsch Cup winner - Patricia Hughes, 2nd Nicola Spence and 3rd Flo McCall & Carmel Cassidy (joint) Link Cup winner - Lorraine Abbott, runner up was Catherine Corrigan Steenson Bowl - winner Gail Steed runner up was Bernie Rice Sinton Cup - winner Bernie Rice, 2nd June Humphries and 3rd Flo McCall & Mary Black (joint) Charlemont Salver winners Aideen Canavan and Catherine Corrigan and runners up Hilary Johnston and Lorraine Megaw Seniors Trophy winner Una Cullinane Silver Medal winner Bernie Rice Bronze Medal winner Mary Black Silver Spoon winner Mary Black Most Birdies was a 3-way tie between Bernie Rice, Carylon McCall and Paula McCrory Largest Handicap Reduction was Mary Black dropping 6 strokes.
