AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Forty-two ladies played in the August Medal at County Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 18 August.

The winner was Julie McCarten with nett 70 and Paula McCrory was second, also with nett 70.  Maggie McKee won the gross prize with 84 gross points and Maggie Donnelly was third with nett 71, beating Valerie Gordin, Jacqueline Kelly, Shernette Mullan and Colette McAleavey on the countback.

Cat A    Mary Black                      nett 73

Cat B    Valerie Gordon               nett 71

Cat C    Jacqueline Kelly             nett 71 (btg Colette McAleavey on c/b)

Cat D    Shernette Mullan            nett 71

Colette McAleavey won the front 9 with nett 34, beating Denise Murphy, Michelle Kinane and Marie Tennyson on the countback and Cait McKinney won the back 9 with nett 36 beating Eilish Grimes on the countback.

9 hole competition

A further 17 ladies played in the 9 hole competition which was won by Doreen Lappin with 24 pts.  Mary Knott was second with 20 pts.

Eileen Fitzsimons had the only two of the day at the 7th and there were birdies for Lady Captain Ellen Brady at the 2nd, Past Lady Captain Lily McMullan at the 10th and Helen Forster at the 12th.
