AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

The annual Macmillan Charity Stableford took place at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 9 May 2024.

The competition was once again very generously sponsored by V Mone and Son, Keady who had provided a display of beautiful prizes which were available in store.

Forty-eight ladies played in the 18 hole competition and a further twenty-one ladies entered the 9 hole competition. 

Welcoming everyone to prize-giving Lady Captain, Ellen Brady extended a special welcome to Mrs Anne Mone, V Mone and Son, Keady.  She thanked Anne for their long-standing support and generosity and invited her to present the fabulous prizes.

18 Hole Competition

The delighted winner was Marie Tennyson with 41 pts, beating Maggie McKee, also with 41 pts, into second place on the countback.  Teresa McVeigh was third with 38 pts and Lena Duffy fourth with 38 pts.

The category winners were:

Cat A    Paula McCrory              35 pts

Cat B    Gail Steed                       36 pts

Cat C    Lorraine Megaw              37 pts

Cat D    Sheila Hughes                37 pts

Colette McSorley won the Front 9 with 20 pts and Anne Attwell won the Back 9 with 19 pts (beating Donna Carolan on the countback).

9 Hole Competition

The 9 hole competition which was won by Anne Black with 19 pts and Maura McCoy was second with 18 pts.

Birdies and Twos

Gail Steed recorded the only birdie of the day on the 12th.

There were twos for Moya Brady and Anne Kinsella at the 3rd; Mary Black and Lorraine Megaw at the 7th and Julie McCarten at the 7ths and 9th.
