Forty-nine ladies competed in the Sinton Cup qualifier stroke competition on 4 May at Co Armagh Golf Club. Despite the competition being played in non-qualifying conditions, with the exception of the winning score, the results reflected the difficulty of the conditions.
Welcoming those present to prize-giving, Lady Captain Lily McMullan thanked Kevin Lowe, Lowe Bros Master Butchers, Stewartstown for their generous sponsorship of the competition.
The competition was won by Maggie McKee with a fantastic nett 64, well clear of Teresa McVeigh who was second with nett 71. The gross was won by Paula McCrory with gross 80.
Hilary Johnston and Aoife Lennon were third and fourth respectively, both with nett 72.
Cat A – Siobhan Donnelly nett 72
Cat B – Colette McAleavey nett 75 (beating Eileen Fitzsimons on countback)
Cat C – Sheila Hughes nett 75
Cat D – Anne McDonald nett 81 (beating Marie Tennyson on countback)
The front 9 was won by Marie Tennyson with nett 30 and the back 9 by Bernie Rice with nett 35.

9 Hole Competition
Fourteen ladies played in the 9 hole competition which was won by Maura McCoy with 17 pts. Anne Cairns was second with 14 pts, beating Mary Knott on countback.
June Humphries recorded a birdie at the 12th and twos were recorded by Paula McCrory at the 7th and Maggie McKee at the 11th and by Sheila Hughes and Siobhan Donnelly at the temporary 2nd.
