Thirty-five ladies competed in the Peggy Nelson Qualifying Stableford held at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 13 April 2023, which was sponsored by BPERFECT Cosmetics.
With apologies having been received from Lady Captain Lily McMullan and Lady Vice Captain Ellen Brady, Past Lady Captain Karen Edgar conducted the prize-giving. Past Lady Captain Karen warmly welcomed fellow-golfer Aimee Brennan, who was representing her fiancé Brendan O’Hea and BPERFECT Cosmetics, sponsor for the competition. Aimee presented the beautiful prizes which were all BPERFECT gift sets.
The competition was played across 4 categories, with the winners of categories A, B and C qualifying for the regional final.
The winners from each of these categories were:
Category A 1st LVC Ellen Brady 33 pts 2nd June Humphries 33 pts
Category B 1st Geraldine Rafferty 32 pts 2nd Gail Steed 32 pts
Category C 1st Lynne Brown 33 pts 2nd Meabh McAleavey 31 pts
Best wishes to LVC Ellen, Geraldine and Lynne as they represent Co Armagh at the regional final at Dunmurry in July.
There were no entries in Category D.
Ten ladies played in the 9 hole competition which was won by Anne Cairns with 15 points. Marie Tennyson was second with 14 points.
There were birdies at the 15th for Gail Steed and the 16th for Colette McSorley and twos were recorded by
Gail Steed at the 3rd, LVC Ellen Brady at the 3rd and 13th, and for Frances Davidson, June Humphries and Mary Black at the 9th.
