The incoming Lady Captain’s Inauguration 9-hole competition preceded the Lady Captain’s Inauguration Ceremony at Co Armagh Golf Club on Saturday 1 January 2023.
Thirty-nine ladies took part in the first competition of the new year and new golfing season on what was another mild New Year’s Day. Before taking to the fairway, they were welcomed in the Pro Shop by incoming Lady Captain who kindly provided them each with two gifts aimed at keeping them warm on the course - one providing internal heating and the other with hand-warming properties! Lady Captain Lily also made an appearance on the course to provide a top up of the refreshments to willing recipients.
Following the formal inauguration ceremony, Lady Captain Lily conducted her first prize-giving, congratulating the prize winners:
1st Mary Black 18 pts
2nd Siobhan Donnelly 18 pts
3rd Michelle Kinane 17 pts
Accepting her prize, Mary expressed her delight at having won the competition and extended best wishes to Lady Captain Lily for 2023.
