AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

87 ladies, including a considerable number of visitors, competed for the coveted Armaghdale Cup on Saturday 3 rd September. This competition was again generously sponsored by Gerard Davidson Business Account Services, represented on the night by his wife lady member Frances.

Karen Edgar was delighted to be the winner of the historic and prestigious trophy with an excellent nett 70, followed by runner up Katherine Steenson with a nett 71.

The gross prize was claimed by Ellen Brady with a gross 80 and visitor Maire McReynolds from City of Derry came in third also with a nett 71. Bernie Rice's nett 72 put her in fourth place with Teresa McVeigh (also nett 72) in fifth.

The categories were as follows:

Category A: Paula McRory nett 73 (beating Gail Steed and Helen Forster on the better back 9)

Category B: Eileen Fitzsimons nett 73

Category C: Sylvia Ashe nett 73

Category D: Mary Knott nett 77 (beating Barbara Jenkins and Ann O'Hea on the better back 9)

The front nine was won by Margaret Marjoram with a nett 30 and the back nine by Teresa Corrigan with a nett 35. Teresa O'Leary from Aughnacloy won the visitors' prize with a nett 74.
