On Saturday 21 September, CAGC Professional, Will Carey, and his assistant, Lee Campbell, hosted an inaugural adult/junior greensomes competition, which they designed to build on the series of lessons that the club’s youngsters have received throughout the year.
And scoring an excellent victory in the nine-hole tournament were Eimear McSorley and her dad, Malachy. Elsewhere, Anna Carson and father, Martin, claimed the runners-up prize, while John-Joe Hughes and Barry McGurgan were third.
The event was a brilliant opportunity for our juveniles to gain enjoyable on-course experience, increase their knowledge of the rules of the game, and implement the countless valuable golfing tips they’ve been given over many months.
It was further evidence, too, of the expert and enthusiastic commitment of Will and Lee to boost the junior section at County Armagh Golf Club. Well done and thanks to everyone involved in what was a terrific occasion that will hopefully be repeated.
