ADAM Hunniford and Vera Ellingham will represent County Armagh Golf Club in the Rory McIlory promoted competition for a chance to play in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Pro-Am.
As winners of the local club's men's and ladies singles competitions, Adam and Vera will form a two-person team for a four-ball, better ball regional qualifier at the K Club on Monday May 9.
A place in an all-Ireland final to be held on the Smurfit Course at the K Club in early May awaits the winners of the regional qualifiers. And the winning club here will then be invited to send their team (male and female) plus a nominated official, to compete in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Pro-Am competition in May.
County Armagh Golf Club Captain Martin Oliver said: “Adam and Vera are to be congratulated on winning their respective competitions, and I know they will be great ambassadors for County Armagh in the regional qualifiers. I wish them well in the competition and hope they can go all the way to the Pro-Am finals.
He added: “Rory McIlroy has done a lot for golf in this country and County Armagh Golf Club are delighted to support his efforts in promoting this year's Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. The chance to play in the Pro-Am at the K-Club is an amazing prize and it would be very nice to see a team from County Armagh winning.”
