Sly Fox wins Half-Century Cup
TOM Fox emerged champion of the over 50's at County Armagh Golf Club winning the Half Century Cup with an excellent 39 stableford points.
Seven points from the last three holes secured the win from Gerard Kelly who also returned 39 points on the day.
With 19 points accumulated on the front nine, 13-handicapper Tom continued that steady scoring for the homeward trek and added a further 20 points to take his tally to 39 points for the round.
Gerard produced a contrasting performance scoring 20 points over the front nine and adding a further 19 on the back, but off his 17-handicap he was thoroughly deserving of his second place.
Francis Curley's 21 points back-nine score was obviously better than the top two finishers, but he managed only to register 17 on the front nine. However, his 38 points score earned him third place.
