AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

GARY Livingstone was determined not to let the season pass at County Armagh without a winning score.

And in the recent club stableford, the 14-handicapper delivered – posting 42 points to claim the top prize ahead of Jimmy Wilson (5) on 41points.

Undoubtedly it was the birdie three at the par four 17 th hole which won it for Gary, who recorded 21 points on each front and back nine.

Wilson too birdied the 17 th on his way to 21 points from the back nine holes. But it was two one-pointers at the 6 th and 7 th holes on his way to 20 points after nine, which ultimately denied him the first prize.

Paul Envy (7) lost out to Jimmy for the runner's up prize in countback. A double bogey at the 16 th cost him dearly but his 41 points still won him the Category 1 prize by one point ahead of Barry Scully (12) returning 18 and 22 points front and back nine respectively.

Gareth Reilly (13), a winner the previous week, was the Category 2 winner with 39 points, winning on countback from Paddy Loughran (18) who also returned 39 points.

In Category 3 meanwhile, Philip Reid (26) was the top scorer on 38 points WITH Eamon McCaffrey (22) runner up with 37 points.

The Best Gross points score was posted by Mark Loughran (4), 39 points.
