COLIN Gamble's nett 64 proved the outstanding score in the Lambert Smith Hampton sponsored stroke competition at County Armagh.

It was one shot better than both William White and Jonathan McKnight who each returned scores of nett 65.

At five-over-par for his front nine, 16-handicapper Colin was well in with a shout. And with a further five-over-par back nine, his nett 64 finish was always going to be the score to beat.

William White (12) was just a point behind for the runner's up prize – a four-over par front nine and three over par back nine resulting in his impressive nett 65 finish.

Jonathan McKnight (8) similarly returned a nett 65 with a birdie three to finish and deservedly claimed the Category 1 first prize. Thomas Murray (7) with a nett 66 - which included a birdie 2 at the second hole - was the category runner up.

In Category 2, Mark Hughes (17) led the way with a nett 66 - a triple bogey eight at the 12 th hole denying him outright victory. And David P Grimley claimed the runners up prize with a nett 67.

Anthony Fagan (19) was in fine form for a win in Category 3 – his nett 66 and better back nine just edging it in front of Eamon Toner (20).
