AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

PIPPED at the post in the Henry White Memorial, Shea Brady produced the winning score he'd been threatening to take the honours in the County Armagh July Medal competition.

The club barman, playing of a handicap of six, returned a nett 65 to win the coveted medal and secure himself a place in the Club Championship.

Shea Brady is presented with his July Medal prize by County Armagh Vice Captain Marty Oliver. Included also are runners up Tommy Makem, Anthony Fagan and Ian Millar.

He opened – and closed – his round with a birdie and added three further birdies at the 6 th , 15 th and 17 th holes to compensate somewhat for shots dropped at the 2 nd , 4 th , 5 th and 8 th as well as 12 th and 16 th holes.

It was just enough to win it ahead of Anthony Fagan (20) who also returned a nett 65. A triple bogey seven at the 14 th hole ultimately cost Anthony the top prize.

Ian Millar (12) topped the Category 1 leader prize-list with a nett 66, a score which Lee Stewart returned also but had to settle for the runner's up prize after countback.

David P Grimley's (15) nett 65 secured him first prize in Category 2 – a triple bogey 8 at the 10 th hole costing him dearly, while Tommy Mackin's (14) steady scoring for a nett 66 took the category runner's up prize.

Aidan McParland (19) won Category 3 with Philip Devlin again making his way onto the prize-list with a nett 71 runner up.
