The annual Supper Evening, the first social event of the year, was held at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 22 January.
Lady Captain Julie McCarten welcomed a packed clubhouse of ladies and outlined the format of the evening which included a short quiz and two activities – beer pong and sticky golf.
The evening is an opportunity to catch up with friends, share some craic and start to think about the golfing season ahead.
The Parklands Restaurant provided a delicious buffet supper and during service ladies pondered over the answers to questions posed on two quiz sheets - one of a number of golf related questions and the other images of 10 golfers.
Following their meal each team took on the beer pong and sticky golf challenges with varying degrees of success. However, Lady Captain didn’t make it easy! Whilst there were lots of cups for the beer pong successfully finding the bottom of one wasn’t without risk as each had a hidden score. Some added points to the team tally but others deducted them.
The sticky golf wasn’t as easy as the room full of golfers expected either though it did generate a lot of competition and banter.
When all the scores were checked and verified the team Seven Sisters of Ellen Brady, Valerie Gordon, Maggie McKee, Bernie McBride, Anne McDonald, Una Cullinane and Shelia Stinson came out on top.
To evening concluded with a raffle with prizes supplied by members of the Ladies’ Committee.
Congratulations to Lady Captain Julie for a successful and enjoyable evening.
