AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Thirty-six ladies played in the July Medal competition at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 18 July which was very generously Philip Corrigan, Carey Glass.  Philip was represented at prize-giving by his Mother and fellow-golfer Teresa Corrigan.

The winner with nett 67 was Sheila Stinson, second was Anne McDonald with nett 68.  The gross prize was won by Lady Captain Ellen Brady with gross 82.  Gillian Poole was third with nett 68.

The category winners were:

Cat A    Paula McCrory                nett 71

Cat B    Teresa McVeigh             nett 69

             (beating Lynne Brown on c/b)

Cat C    Moya Brady                    nett 69

Cat D    Aisling Knipe                   nett 68

Joy Steenson won the front 9 with nett 31 and Gail Steed won the back 9 with nett 34.

9 hole competition

A further 17 ladies played in the 9 hole competition which was won by Shernette Mullan with 19 pts.  The runner-up, also with 19pts, was Catherine Vernon.

Birdies and Twos

There were birdies at the 6th for Gail Steed, 10th for Paula McCrory and 12th for Teresa McVeigh.  Twos were recorded by Helen Forster at the 3rd, Gemma Rice and Joy Steenson at the 7th and Eilish Grimes at the 18th.
