Lady Captain Karen Edgar sponsored a 9 hole stableford at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 27 October.
She welcomed a large number of ladies to the Clubhouse and the final Thursday night prize-giving of the year. The bar was bedecked with Halloween-themed decorations including orange pots containing crocus and dwarf daffodil bulbs planted up ready for spring by the green-fingered Lady Captain.
Forty-three ladies had played in the competition and the winners were:
1st LVC Lily McMullan 19 pts
2nd Sylvia Ashe 18 pts
3rd Flo McCall 18 pts
4th Anne Kinsella 18 pts
A number of ladies really got into the spirit of Halloween, resulting in best-dressed prizes for Helen McLaughlin, Audrey Kellett, Margaret Oakes, Eileen Fitzsimmons and Gail Steed.
There were also lots of spot prizes during which the pots were won by Maura McCreesh, Anne O’Reilly, Mary McElvanna, Siobhan Donnelly and Eileen Fitzsimmons.
Eilish Grimes and Flo McCall were each the lucky winners of a pumpkin, however, it came with a sting in the tail, as Lady Captain requested images of the finished creation.
Finally, there was a sweet Halloween treat for everyone present.
Eileen Fitzsimons congratulated Lady Captain on another great evening and successful year.
