AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

As the main golfing season draws near to a close at Co Armagh Golf Club Lady Captain, Karen Edgar welcomed ladies to the ‘Step into Autumn’ competition on Thursday 29 September 2022.

The course continued to be challenging for many and once again this was reflected in the scores.  Forty-nine ladies played in the 18 hole competition and 21 in the 9 hole competition.

The first, second and third prizes of the competition had been very generously sponsored by the website Miss Designer Golf and there was also a discount card for everyone who entered the competition.

The competition was won by Hilary Johnston, Bernie McBride was second and Lady Captain Karen Edgar third, all with 36 pts.

Category A was won by Lady Vice Captain Lily McMullan with 34 pts beating Julie McCarten on countback, Category B by Jacqueline Kelly with 33 pts, Category C by Lynne Brown with 29 pts and Category D by Gladys Villiers with 30 pts, beating Eilish Grimes on countback.

Denise Murphy won the front nine with 18 pts, beating Patricia Hughes, Teresa McVeigh, Lorraine Megaw and Maggie McKee on the countback.  Colette McSorley won the back nine with 19 pts.

The 9 hole competition was won by Anne Cairns with 19 pts and Vera Ellingham was second, also with 19 pts.

The Get Into Golf 6 hole competition was won by Ruth Black and Joan McCool was second.

To finish off the evening there was a free raffle for which the prizes were provided by Lady Captain Karen.

Twos were recorded by LC Karen Edgar at the 2nd and Carmel Cassidy at the 4th and there were birdies for Maggie McKee at the 3rd and LVC Lily McMullan and Colette McSorley at the 13th.
