AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Fifty-six ladies played in the Club Stableford competition generously sponsored by Jeff Walbran, Specsavers, on Thursday 25 July at Co Armagh.

The competition standard scratch was 70.

Mrs Moya Brady, Lady Captain welcomed a large number of ladies to prize-giving and explained that unfortunately the sponsor was unable to be present as he was on holidays. Fellow golfer Gail Steed was on hand as the sponsor's representative to present the prizes.

Karen Edgar won first place wth a fantastic 44 pts, 6 points clear of Aoife Lennon's 38 pts for second. Eileen Fitzsimons came third, also with 38 pts.

The remaining prize winners were:

Cat A – Paula McCrory 36 pts

Cat B – Una Cullinane 35 pts

Cat C – Anne O'Reilly 37 pts

Cat D – Gemma Rice 36 pts

Sheila Hughes won the Front 9 with 22 pts and Vera Ellingham won the Back 9 with 19 pts, beating Anne McDonald on the countback.

Cathleen Mone won the 9 hole competition with 18 pts and Marion Watt was second with 17 pts beating Anne O'Hea and Gina Morris on the countback.

There was only one birdie recorded by Lily McMullan at the 18 th and there were 2s for Anne Kinsella at the 7 th , June Humphries at the 9 th , Paula McCrory at the 11 th and for Julie McCartan at the 3 rd and 7 th .

There was just the one handicap cut, which was not surprisingly, Karen Edgar who was cut from 26 to 22.8.

Phils was unable to attend prize-giving to present the beautiful prizes, which had all been purchased from Vincent Mone and Son, Keady.
