Fifty-eight ladies played in the Macmillan Charity Stableford competition generously sponsored by Vincent Mone and Son, Keady, which was held on Thursday 16 May at Co Armagh. A further 14 competitors played in the 9 hole competition. The competition standard scratch was 70.

Welcoming a large number of ladies to prize-giving, Mrs Moya Brady, Lady Captain, extended a special welcome to Mrs Ann Mone, fellow golfer and representative of the sponsor, V Mone and Son, Keady. She thanked her for their long-standing support of the competition which annually raised money for the very worthy Macmillan charity and for the beautiful array of prizes.
Ann thanked everyone for participating in the competition and raising funds for Macmillan, a charity that was very close to her heart.
Ann was delighted to present her good friend Eileen Fitzsimons with the 1 st place prize for her fantastic 43 pts. Michelle Kinane was second with 38 pts and Maggie McKee was third with 38 pts.

Cat A – Bernie Rice 34 pts
Cat B – Emma Garrigan 34 pts
Cat C – Lorraine Megaw 36 pts
Cat D – Lena Duffy 37 pts
Gillian Poole won the Back 9 with 20 pts and Colette McAleavey won the Front 9 with 20 pts, beating Joy Steenson and Julie McCartan on the countback.
Maura McCoy won the 9 hole competition with 21 pts, beating Angela O'Reilly, also with 21 pts, into second place.
Helen McCourt won the weekly Time For Nine competition with 21 pts and Michelle Kinane was second with 19 pts.
There were birdies for Paula McCrory and Ellen Brady at the 8 th ; Carina Oliver at the 12 and Gillian Poole at the 17 th .
There were 2s for Anne Kinsella at the 3 rd ; Michell Kinane and Geraldine Rafferty at the 7 th ; Helen Forster at the 9 th ; Rita Mone, Hilary Johnston, Ann Mone and Caitlin McKinney at the 11 th and Moya Brady and June Humphries at the 13 th .
There were handicap cuts for Maura McCoy, Angela O'Reilly, Anne McEneaney and Eileen Fitzsimons.
The draw for the 9 hole matchplay and the Hirsch Cup was conducted during the evening.
