AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

On Thursday 5 th October 62 ladies played the last weekly competition of 2017 in the form of a 14 and 9-hole stableford in which Lady Vice Captain Elizabeth Mawhinney emerged as the winner with a very impressive score of 34 points. Before presenting the prizes, Lady Vice Captain Elizabeth who was deputising for Lady Captain Gail wished everyone well in the winter league and reminded them of the AGM on Thursday 23 rd November.

She invited the lady members and their friends to a table quiz on Friday 13 th October which is a ladies branch fundraising event. Zumba classes resume on Thursday 12 th October for a 6-week programme running from 8.15 until 9.15pm. She also wished Ellen Brady and her team every success in the Winter Alliance inter club competition which begins on Monday 9 th October. Elizabeth has compiled a 2018 club calendar which will be available for purchase at a cost of £5 per copy from the office, bar and Ladies Committee.

Vice-Captain Elizabeth announced the dates for her ladies residential which will be at the Roe Park resort in Limavady on Sunday 22 nd and Monday 23 rd April at a cost of £115 per person. Those interested in participating in the event are asked to sign up and pay a £25 deposit before the end of October.

The results of the competition were as follows.

Nine-hole competition

Maura McCoy = 18 points beating Maggie McKee on countback.

14-hole competition.

4 th place = Lily McMullan = 28 points.

3rd place = Paula McCrory = 30 points.

2nd place = Jacqueline Donnelly = 31 points.

1st place = Elizabeth Mawhinney = 34 points.
