AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

The final of the annual Putting Competition organised by the Ladies Branch took place on Friday 26th February. Once again this was very generously sponsored by Mrs. Ellen Brady of Ellen's Traditional Fish and Chips.

For the second year in a row the winners were an all-ladies team.  Congratulations to The Pink Ladies who defeated Paul McCreesh’s all-male team in the grand finale with Maura McCreesh’s mixed team in third place.

Lady Captain Mrs. Una Cullinane congratulating the winners, The Pink Ladies - Rene Calvert, Mary Knott, Cathy Murray, Marian Watts and honorary Pink Lady, Gail Steed.

A total of 26 teams had entered this popular event competing in two previous qualifying rounds for a place on finals night.  This year we were also pleased to welcome teams from Loughgall and Aughnacloy.  Miss Paula McCrory assisted by Mrs. Anne McDonald ensured the smooth running of proceedings. The Ladies Committee provided the supper on each evening along with the raffle prizes with contributions from the Bar and Dobbs the Caterer.  Thanks also go to Mr. Alan Rankin the Club Professional for his contribution to the prizes and to Mrs. Lilian McMullan for organising the “Guess the number of balls” competition.
