AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

New Year's Day saw the inauguration of Mrs Irene Lutton as Lady Captain of County Armagh Golf Club. The outgoing captain Mrs Hilary Johnston handed over the reins of office to Irene and wished her a very successful captaincy. In a packed clubhouse Irene thanked Hilary and all the ladies for their support and hoped her year would be as successful as 2013. The Lady Captain thanked all her team captains for 2014 and wished all the ladies a very successful golfing year.

On the golf course the New Year stableford competition over 9 holes was played in very wet and windy conditions. A total of 26 ladies braved the elements and the top 7 ladies were separated by 1 stableford point. The incoming Lady Vice Captain Mrs Margaret Marjoram edged out Pauline Gingles for the top prize with 18 points winning on the count back. Gail Steed secured 3 rd place with 17 points beating Barbara Gartland, Lynn Brown, Paula McCrory and Ann McDonald on the count back.

The handing over of the Captain's brooch and presentation of prizes took place after a very tasty brunch.
