AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

A large turnout of ladies took part in stableford competition on Thursday last. Conditions were good with bright sunshine throughout the day and only the ladies who teed up late in the evening got the heavy shower. The Ellie Maine trophy is very generously sponsored by Daily Bake Hamiltonsbawn Road Armagh.

Carina Oliver returned a magnificent score of 45 stableford points to lift the cup. Carina is playing great golf this year and has featured many times among the prize winners. Kathleen Mallon was 5 points adrift to secure the runner up prize while Vera Ellingham took third place with 39 points.

The following ladies won the category prizes. A: Geraldine Rafferty 37points. B: Ann McDonald 37points. C: Brigid McEneaney39 points. D: Kay Molloy 34 points. The best par lady was Toni McManus's 36 points. The back nine belonged to Pauline Gingles with 20 points and Marjorie Compson's 20 points gave her the front nine prize. A large number of ladies attended the prize giving in the clubhouse, and lady captain Hilary Johnston congratulated the winners and asked Sheila Steenson the proprietor of Daily Bake to present the prizes. Sheila said she was delighted to be associated with the ladies branch and wished them well in the future. There were a number of handicap cuts on the day. Vera, Kathleen and Brigid all lost 1 shot each but Carina lost a whopping 3 shots
