The Spring Open was played last Monday at a wet and windy County Armagh course. Nevertheless 76 ladies took to the fairway's including a number of visiting clubs from Portadown, Aughnacloy and Cloverhill. This competition was sponsored by Lila's Fashion's Scotch Street Armagh. Mark Hawthorne from Lila's who are celebrating 40 years in business this year was very warmly welcomed by the large number of ladies in the clubhouse for the presentation of prizes.
The best score on the day was returned by Aideen Cannavan with 37 stableford points. Runner up was Moya Brady with 36 points while 3 rd and 4 th places were decided on the count back with Una Cullinane having the better back 9 from Nichola Spence. Vera Ellingham picked up 5 th and the best gross went to Emma Oliver.

Cat A: B Rice 33 points, Cat B: R Calvert 33 points, Cat C: K Mallon 33points, Cat D: B Teahan 29 points.

G Steed and L Megaw won the front and back 9 respectively.

The top visitor on the day was W Beale from Portadown Golf Club.

Nearest the pin on the 7 th hole was V Gordon while T McVeigh was closest at the 11 th .

The longest drive belonged to P McCrory.
Mark said he was delighted to see such a large turnout of ladies at the presentation and he looked forward to continuing his sponsorship. He wished the ladies well for the remainder of the season. The Lady Captain Hillary thanked Mark for his kindness to the ladies branch and invited him to present the Spring Open Cup to a very worthy and proud winner Aideen.
