Etiquette

• Always be early for your tee time
• Make sure that no one is standing too close when you swing your club
• When practicing your swing never swing in the direction of another player
• Do not hit a ball until you are sure the players in front are out of range • If you play a ball that appears to be going in the direction of another player shout out “fore”
• Do not disturb another player’s concentration by making unnecessary noise or movement when they are taking a shot.
• No mobile phones on the course
• Never throw a club or hit your bag with a club in anger.
• Play at a good pace and keep the round moving.
• Repair all divots made after you have taken a shot and any damage on the green caused by the impact of the ball.
• Before leaving a bunker always rake the sand.
• Try and leave the bunker as you would like to find it.
• Keep trolleys off Tee Boxes
• Do not stand in a place that causes your shadow to be cast across a player’s putting line and never walk through a player’s putting line.
• Replace the flagstick in the hole as soon as your group have finished putting
• Proceed to the next tee without delay and mark scores for previous hole.
• Check your score card is correct: Score for each hole, marker’s signature, your signature, handicap, date and name of competition

Pre Competition Preparation

• Stretch

• 30 yard wedge building up to full wedge

• 8 Iron

• 6 Iron

• 4 Iron

• 3 wood or Driver. 1 last vision on first Tee shot

• Back to 30 yard wedges to calm swing down

• Putting Green then 1st Tee 5 minutes before Tee time
