Jonathan and James produce winning scores

The Easter Holiday period, the cold wintry weather or the thought that the course might have been closed after the recent heavy snowstorm may be some of the reasons why only a dozen young juveniles ventured out to play in the first stableford competition of the year.  Irrespective of the conditions, there were tremendous scores produced by those taking part, no more so that 8-handicapper Johanthan Hewitt with a winning score of 42 pts, with Juvenile Captain Mark Shannon and big-hitting Thomas Clarke in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, both on 40 pts with Mark ahead on the back-nine score.

In the blue-marker competition, 1st prize went to James Thompson with a magnificent 47 pts and no doubt we will hear more about James as the year progresses.  In 2nd place was Granemore prospect Barry Lappin with an excellent 45 pts and Stuart Hall with 41 pts coming in 3rd place.

Hopefully next weekend the weather will be warmer and kinder and with the Easter holidays in the distant past there should be greater numbers taking part this coming Saturday and the Saturdays to follow.
