Christopher Lester amassed a superb total of 43 pts to win the Henry & May White Memorial Open.
A front nine of gross 37 that included a run of pars from the 4th to the 8th saw him make steady progress to the turn. He started the back nine brightly, with another pair of pars and a birdie at the par 5 12th.
A double bogey at the 14th didn’t derail his run to home as he bounced back with 3 straight pars and with only his 4th bogey of the day on the finishing hole as he completed an impressive round with a deserving winning total of 43 pts.
Visitor Aidan McGee finished 2nd overall with 41 pts, he was closely followed home by 17 handicapper Noel Parkes with a total of 40 pts that included 6 pars, he pipped the 18 handicapper Anthony Hillen on the back nine who also had 6 pars on his card and a total of 40 pts. Patrick Brannigan completed the top 5 and while he will want to forget his triple bogey at the opening hole, he has to be pleased with his response that included a 2 at 7 and he covered the final 9 holes in just one over gross for a gross total of 76 and a points total of 39.
The gross prize was once again captured by the ever consistent Adam Cromwell the +2 handicapper, opened with a level par front nine, that also included a 2 at 7 and he came home in 2 under gross with birdies at the 10th and the 14th for a gross 67 and 38 pts.
The Green/Red Marker Competition was won by Ben Simpson with 35pts that included a 2 at the 11th.
